Welcome to another lesson contained
within the PeopleSoft Journal Entry training module. In this lesson, learn
how to look up an existing journal entry, also referred to as “recalling” the entry.
In some cases you may know the Journal ID you want to look up and in other cases
you may want to see a complete list of all Journal IDs entered under a unique
Operator ID. To recall a known Journal ID, begin by navigating to the Find an
Existing Value tab. Click Main Menu, General Ledger, Journals, Journal Entry,
Create/Update Journal Entries. Click the Find an Existing Value tab. In the
Journal ID field, change the ‘begins with’ to ‘contains’ and type in the last
6 digits of an ID. For example, click the search button, scroll to the bottom
and you will see the Journal ID hyperlink listed under Search Results. Search criteria can be based on a single
field or a combination of fields. For example, you can search for all Journal
IDs processed on a specific date by a unique Operator ID. Let’s try another example. Select a date
from the drop-down calendar. In the Entered By field, type in a unique
Operator ID. Click the Search button, scroll to the bottom and see a list of
