There are people that are prospering, people that are doing well, but unless you have a vibrant community throughout
your community you really don’t have success. The Kenan Institute, more so than anyone else, has the tools, has the expertise, has the experience
to be the convener of this type of initiative. Since we launched the North Carolina Investment Forum in the fall of 2017, we’ve seen a rapidly growing appetite among investors,
as well as community and government leaders, to invest in new ways across our state. Creating kind of convening tables that can really allow folks to work across this kind of native lines in rooms like
one here today at NCIF presents a great opportunity for us to be able
to take advantage of some of those connections. And it’s just incredibly important the work
the Kenan Institute is doing because it really does bring those collective minds together. So I try to encourage that everywhere I go.
