2020 Bullet Journal Setup (Philippines) | Jean Benette

2020 Bullet Journal Setup (Philippines) | Jean Benette

Hello everyone! Welcome to my channel. Today I’m going to show you my 2020 bullet journal setup. I know that this set up is late, it’s already the last week of January. But I decided to skip this month and start on February instead. At first, I was contemplating a lot on starting a bujo this year But I thought, screw it! I’m just gonna do it lol So, I bought this binder. It comes with lined papers and 5 dividers which is a steal because this is actually affordable and it has this beautiful pastel unicorn front cover so pretty But I bought a separate pack of sheets that are dotted because I like those better than the lined ones Before we start let me show you the things that I’m gonna use for this setup these daiso highlighters are so good, you guys if you’re on a budget, try these. I only got them for 88 pesos per pack! These are the pastel ones. They also have the fluorescent but I haven’t tried those yet. They are comparable to zebra mildliners yes, this is an electric tape lol I don’t have any washi tapes ๐Ÿ™ I already ordered online but they haven’t arrived yet this one is a masking tape Let’s start with my first page which is my front cover. I found this old book that already has some missing pages So I thought of using it for my bullet journal I printed out a bunch of pictures from Pinterest and Unsplash Unsplash is a website where you can download pictures from different amazing photographers for free here I’m just trying to decide the best layout or arrangement for these pieces I’m sketching 2020 But I erased it again and wrote it a little lower this time This year I want to learn calligraphy Because I think calligraphy looks really good on bullet journaling So I really hope I will improve on this matter as you can see I kind of erased the center part of “2020” That’s where I’m going to write my name which is “Jean Benette” Initially, I was going to write “twenty – twenty” But I decided to give it a twist lol I thickened the “2020” because I thought it looks so bland But I immediately regret it after I just looked a lot worse ๐Ÿ™ to finish it off I wrote down the word “twenty twenty” and that’s it for my front page! here’s how it looks like ๐Ÿ™‚ this is my key spread I didn’t notice that my camera stopped recording ๐Ÿ™ So I’m only able to show you the other half of this clip I chose another photo from my prints this one is really pretty it’s a picture of the ocean it’s very calming when I look at it and aesthetic as well I also tore a piece of kraft paper more electric tape of course :>I can’t find my glue stick here that’s why I used the tapes instead I also thought of drawing some grid lines might look cool But now that I look at it, I don’t know :/ what do you guys think? comment down below ๐Ÿ™‚ This one is the grid spacing cheat sheet I got this idea from Amanda Rachlee The queen of bullet journaling! This cheat sheet is really helpful for me It makes things a lot easier when starting a new spread I can actually just detach it from my binder instead of flipping my notebook back and forth this video is so long the maximum speed that I can edit this video is up to 2x ๐Ÿ™ I swear this is already in 2x speed lol But I hope that you still enjoy watching this so far ๐Ÿ™‚ My camera stopped recording again so I wasn’t able to show you my lettering on “grid spacing cheat sheet” But you’ll still see it on the flip through at the end of the video I decided to include my favorite verse It is the Mark 11:24 It says, “Whatever you asked for in prayer, “believe that you have received it, “and it will be yours.” This verse is very special to me It gave me a huge impact in my life especially in 2019 It was the only bible verse that I printed out and pasted on the wall of my dorm when I was still in Manila reviewing for my board exam It was a great reminder to me to pray for the things that I want to happen and declaring that it is going to happen ๐Ÿ™‚ The preparation for board exam was probably one of the things that I don’t want to experience again During that time, I experienced a lot of anxiety and self-doubt and fear of failure as well I didn’t want to disappoint my parents, my relatives and the people who know me The pressure was real! Even when the board exam was done And we were all waiting for the result to come out Praying was the only thing that I can do Which is why this verse is really special to me When the result came out, I was in happy tears I literally woke up my mom to tell her that I made it We were all so happy and it felt surreal When my dad got home from work I told him the news and he was so proud That’s my highlight in 2019! What was your highlight in 2019? Let me know! Anyway, back to the video lol I used a sticky note here and wrote down the verse and then I used one of the prints again and cut it into pieces For my next spread This wouldn’t be a bullet journal without a 2020 overview or a year in a glance I kept mine pretty simple for the header, I pasted a piece of kraft paper and wrote down the title of the spread I also added a little bit of black tape I used the Daiso highlighter in color gray I used the highlighter first before writing the months to avoid any smearing or smudging I was kind of running my pinky finger at the end to get rid of excess ink these highlighters are quite pigmented So you have to be careful when using them Here, I’m writing down the months with my favorite cursive hand writing This is probably my favorite out of all the spreads that I did in this set up it really looks so pretty I forgot to film the part where I was highlighting the important dates But I just used my stabilo highlighters for that I used my pilot gtech on writing down the numbers This took me too long to finish my fingers actually ached so bad after this spread lol Doesn’t it look so pretty? ahhhh Next page ๐Ÿ™‚ This one is my future log I made this spread a simple one as well In the future log, I wrote down the important dates such as birthdays, anniversaries, events, holidays, etc. I really like the way my lettering turned out with this one I forgot the name of this pen But it’s a cheaper alternative to the pigma ones I used the Daiso highlighter again this time to make a shadow I was using these highlighters since I was in 5th year college and I don’t think they’ll run out any time soon So they are really good for their price My next spread is my reading list I love reading so much But I kind of stopped for almost 2 years now Because my schedule during 4th and 5th year college was really hectic. During that time I have to do what I can to pass all my subjects and graduate on time Thank goodness I freaking made it lol Initially I was planning to draw a bookshelf for this spread But I changed my mind because honestly at this point I’m already tired and just wanted to get through it It was my first time filming a video and it gave me a lot of headache lol It kept on stop recording the memory was full so I have to keep on transfering the files from time to time and then the battery dies so I have to charge it lol okay, enough with my rant So, my goal for this year is to be able to read 15 books Then I’m gonna write the title of the book on this spread the genre, and my rating I also added this picture of this cozy living room because why not? This is the last part of my setup It is my goal spread I made it into three sections my personal goals, my work goals, and also my youtube/instagram goals I do have a lot of goals this year but I wrote down a couple here For youtube, my goal is to reach 1000 subscribers by the end of the year For my instagram, my goal is 500 followers ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, to upload consistently or at least twice per month on youtube For my personal goals. It just has to do with my habits and my health. Also, I am a sucker for online shopping so I really have to control myself on that matter I hope I’ll do well in 2020 In my work goals, I just wrote my dream workplace. I hope that I’ll be able to work there soon I’m really looking forward to that. You guys should write down your goald this year too and then at the end of the year, you can take a look at it again and see which are the ones you’ve accomplished already so you can cross them out I think that is really exciting and fulfilling Let’s challenge ourselves this year ๐Ÿ™‚ I just drew that little rose and that’s it! I’m arranging my spreads according to order Here’s the final flip through of my 2020 bullet journal I really hope that you enjoyed watching this video If you are planning on starting a bullet journal, I hope I have inspired you.
