APA Style: Articles – Online Newspapers

Hello, and welcome to the Quinnipiac University Arnold Bernhard Library tutorial on article citations from online newspapers in APA style This video will be dedicated to articles from newspapers Here is an example of an article found through an online newspaper So that you can see where to find the information you need to create the citation. Different publishers arrange the information differently so you may find the information on other parts of the page in the article that you are citing We will refer back to this article as we build the citation. For newspaper articles we begin with the author’s last name followed by a comma and their initials ending with a period. We then move on to the date isolated in parentheses. Newspapers always give an exact date of publication so include all the information given in the format of year comma then the month and the date. After the closing parentheses give a period. Then provide the title of the article followed by a period. After that give the name of the newspaper in italics which is then also followed by a period. Finally and with a retrieve from and the url of the exact article. This concludes the tutorial. If you have any further questions feel free to contact a reference librarian who will be more than happy to assist you.
