Welcome to APA Style: Blogs, Video Blogs, Newsgroups, Online Forums or Discussion Groups. The internet offers several options for people in the world to sponsor and join discussions devoted to particular subjects.
These options include blogs, video blogs, newsgroups, online forums and discussion groups. Here is an example of a blog and the order that it is cited in. Author; first initial and last name or last name. In parentheses, year, month and day followed by the title of the blog. Retrieved from URL. Please note that the titles for blogs, newsgroups, and forums are not italicized.
If the authors name is not available, provide the scree name. There are two examples of how to cite a video blog. The first, author, last name, followed by initials; year, month and day in parentheses. Followed by the title of the blog. Video file in brackets, followed by the URL where the message can be retrieved from. In the second example, a scree name is used for the author name. Video file in brackets followed by the URL where the message can be retrieved from. The APA manual for the format for messages posted to a newsgroup, online forum or discussion group.
Author or screen name; last name, first, followed by initials.
Year, month, day of the posting in parentheses. Title of post; do not italicize it.
Description of message; after the title in brackets. Retrieved from followed by the URL where the message can be retrieved from.
Include the name of the list which the message was posted if this information was not part of the URL.
