  1. #1082. Ever get the impression that you are incredibly full of shit and people are getting annoyed by the smell?

  2. Just because you have a vagina doesn't mean you are a feminist. It isn't about belittling the role of men either and it certainly isn't about how you as a woman would live another woman's life. It is about fighting for women's rights to choose how they want to live their lives. If she wants to be a stay at home mother or a "slut" it is a freedom to do so. Gawd, certain feminists give a bad name to all feminists. I don't know why everyone is targeting Lorde. I guess this is what success brings.

  3. Anyone notice how they (not the blogger nor the newscaster nor Hammer) didn't even mention a specific race in the video? Hip hop is not a race; it's a genre of music.

  4. That blogger is an ass. I'm black and do not believe that the song was racist. She's mentioning shit that her and her friends don't care care about. She also mentions "trashing the hotel room" which is implying about rock stars (most of them being white). Also (in an interview) she said that her and her friends mainly listen to hip hop.

  6. Oh sure, they always pull the race card. How is that racist? She is criticizing the American artist because they always portray vanity in their videos especially hip-hop artist and I for one am sick of it! Lorde is a breath of fresh air and like most artist in New Zealand, they are not one to pull their punches!

  7. She doesn't wanna be a queen she wants to be Queen bee. She doesn't want that kind of lux but she wants to be our ruler. Sounds like she wants to be president or god x)

  8. So when they put "nigga" in every sentence it's not racist or just disrespectful? America, shut the fuck up.

  9. The only thing racist here, was the agreement between the male and female that apparently hip hop artists and hip hop music, is an other-than-white thing.

  10. That blogger is pathetic.  Plus, the only thing that is racist is the fact that the blogger implies that the things mentioned in the song, actually define a race.  That may be more racist than Michael Richards.

  11. Who gives a fuck if the song is racist or not! God damn it! ALMOST %90 of all the songs we hear now days are RACIST!!!!!! Holly shit dont even get me started on t.v. shows that has graphic rape on show uncut or censored. Damn and some people wonder why there is so much bad shit happening now days! WELL HELLOW DUMB ASS ITS CALLED T.V.!!!! omg kids now days probably all ready know how to get girls nocked up just from watching t.v.!!!! LIKE THIS COMMENT IF YOU AGREE!

  12. This feminist blogger may be black person and is using the racist card.  I am not saying all black people do, but is just a little convenient for his/her cause.
Chill out! It's only a song.
This world is so F#$! up right now, you can't say or do anything without offending someone, a culture or of some religious group.

In the end, "all we are is dust in the wind."  Let it go and just enjoy the song.

  13. How could you be as delusional to think that its racist? Pretty frightening to think that people as stupid as this feminist have the platform to spread inaccuracies. That's the internet for you…

  14. What the crap is wrong with the media? Lorde is an amazing artist and this song in no way implies racism. All she's saying in the song is that she's just being realistic about life and that it's not a party. Gee, I'm sorry that she actually has morals. I'm sorry that she doesn't lick hammers, make appearances on state 90% naked and rubs a foam mickey mouse finger on her vagina! The media should be praising her and saying how much of a great influence she is on today's Youth! We need more singers like Lorde. Her music is uplifting, inspiring and just outright phenomenal. I am sorry to anyone outside of America that has to listen to this kind of garbage that our media spews out, and how they make everything about race. There's a word for people like this: and they're called Progressive-Liberals. They literally see everything through race. Meanwhile it's Okay for a black person to make fun of a white person.

GO LORDE! YOU ARE AMAZING! WHO CARES WHAT THE STUPID MEDIA SAYS!

  15. It doesn't matter …. someone is going to call out "RACIST" at any given opportunity and the feminist blogger who took the BIG leap is an idiot for being so dense to think those lyrics are racist in any way.

  16. kiwi chick….unpretentious….lyrical statement; most hip-hop/rap is bling, shallow, cheap trash. and the problem with the truth is…?

  17. Fuck you CNN and all your bellives, the fucking american though….. I have two words for your incompetent knolege….. BLOW ME… tahts not wise but is fair 😀

  18. The truth is racism has taken an advantage of it's own and literally anything can be translated into racism. If the past actually wanted to be let go for non profit reasons none of this bullshit would exist. LITERALLY, I could say "The road center lines use to be white but were changed due to visibility regulations" and be accused of racism. Sorry but racism will continue as long as the accusers accuse so we're in for a long haul. Deal with it I guess

  19. How ignorant to assume that a 16yr old from New Zealand would not be writing about race in her songs. Yeah, they probably don't have any ethnic minorities over there. Its an American thing only.

  20. I think the fact that Lorde felt it poignant enough to discuss in her song (as both a TEENAGER effected by popular music and an artist) should be more alarming than whether "Royals" is "racist." She makes a valid point about fame and unrealistic expectations about success and what success is and it's effect on the impressionable. She should be applauded for being a whistleblower as opposed to perpetuating the hyperbolic ideal of becoming successful.

  21. The blogger is trying to use Lorde to get attention and maybe dealing with their own issues. When you are subconsciously racist, everything you see is racism.

Remember that when someone instinctively yells racism.

  22. Well this "feminist" is an idiot. Why would she take the time to criticize and put down a talented artist who was obviously not referring to racist inquiries? Get a life virginia or whatever your name is and stop assuming crap that you don't even understand. Absolutely pathetic

  23. I'm not really a big fan of the song, only because it's not my taste in music. But I did listen to it a couple times and it being racists is the dumbest thing ever. If someone is calling it out as racists then it's clear they are the bigot, who is looking for so called Racism in everything they can get their hands on.

  24. She is criticizing all music scenes. Rap, rock, pop music all of it. This blogger essentially just took 2 lines out of the song and yelled racism instead of looking at the big picture.

  25. BREAKING NEWS: A blogger on this new internet thing said something was racist!!
Why is this in the news. This is not news this is the internet everyday and CNN can't keep up..

  26. People just like to stir the pot and be heard, they are the ones ruining this country with their big mouths and opinions…..I DON'T CARE, I LUV THIS SONG.

  27. Her lyrics aren't racist. If you listen to rap and/or hip hop that is literally all they talk about. She is just expressing what all the songs she listened to are about. God I can not stand people who pull the race card every chance they get.

  28. calling out hiphop is not racist,it is not 1980/90 anymore, there are no longer that strong connection between black people and hiphop.take macklemore, eminem, yelawolf, machinegun kelly.

  29. If a song doesnt make sence up front then it hits you subliminally…all yall dumb ass blacks dont even realize she talkin about you in the past and the present…know the bible, kno yo history and youll know when ur being talked about…ill break down her chorus for You dumbass, naive, wanna sing kumbaya with world as muthafuckas…when yall mixed, black, ricans, hatians gnna realize yall the most hated on this planet earth and satan rules the earth…other races put us against each other and yall jus sit here and play the game with them…ill break down the chorus dummies…Not caught up in yo love affair=we not spiritual and believe farytall like the bible… We would never be royal, it doesnt run in our blood=blacks were the starting of all civilizations and blacks were born kings and queens and whites wasnt, not in their lineage. .
that kinda of luck jus aint for us, we crave a different kind of buzz=we weren't lucky enough to be chosen ones of God, so they crave a different type of God???
let me be your ruler, u can call me queen b and baby ill rule, let me live that fantasy=we whites will rule over blacks, call us your master, and let us live like this until Jesus comes back…

  30. +eric cross whats funny is its the most shared song…funny is I dont hear this song around blacks so only whites are playing it

  31. The accuser that said Lorde is as such as the title suggests must have very poor self image and feel very insecure.  The lyrics Lorde creates are abstract which proves her genius.  The blogger mentioned here must have a much more inferior intellect to even suggest such rubbish.

  32. What a load of old codswallop! If Lorde is racist then I'm Elvis (which I'm not, incidentally). Ok, I don't know the girl personally, but she certainly strikes me as intelligent and thoughtful. I still am at a complete loss at how the lyrics can be construed as racist. Also for the record, Lorde has feminist ideals and beliefs too. Quite frankly, I think the world's gone barkin' mad!!

  33. That is the dumbest shit I have ever heard and I'm a huge hip hop fan! Lorde speaks the truth!

  34. Obviously the blogger is being racist by assuming the stereo types of the black hip-hop artist are true and she assumes that they are who Lorde is talking about; so the blogger's mind is racist from assuming this position, and then represses those racist feelings by writing that column. End of this argument.

  35. WTF! When she talks about those things she's not talking about black people! She's talking about the typical video clip that you see… Some people just see racism and all different  shit like iluminati everywhere…

  36. very seriously one of the most ridiculous things i have probably ever heard…  are people really this pathetically desperate to find fault in everyone?  and yet people still wonder why america is falling apart so quickly… we are locked in psychological civil war, taking sides, fighting each other instead of fighting true danger facing us… divide and conquer, one of the oldest tricks in the book.  want to see a good metaphor for america?  go to a dog fight… dogs fighting to the death while owners are making money off of it hand over fist.

  37. People. Your going to find racism wherever you go. Wether it's white to black or black to white. We will never abolish racism. We all just need to look at each other as humans rather than a different color. And please, stop giving attention to these people who want to stir racism or play the race card. Because all your doing is giving them the attention they want. God Bless.

  38. Racist?
She is racist because she is white?
She can't hint at black hiphop artists because she is white?

  39. I don't see anything wrong with the lyrics. If anything, I agree with Lorde cause I'm tired of listening to music that only talks about hoes, money, houses, clubs. It's because of us listeners that you have all that, I guess people do change when money is involved. They forget where they come from…

  40. oh noooo ….. shes not a racist  … theres no way shes gonna know hip hop artist in New Zeland, afterall its not like she has the internet …. silly blogger

  41. Who cares what some racist, feminist said in her column that nobody read anyway until she started defaming people? What racist are going to speak with in the next segment CNN? Former Grand Imperial Wizard of the KKK Daniel Carver?? Stop giving these people attention they shouldn't be getting

  42. If anyone's racist it's the feminist blogger who assumes that gold teeth invariably mean "black thug rappers". She should not be projecting her own clear racism on a 17-year-old girl who is simply making references to urban culture and glamour.

  43. If this video right here isn't evidence that the left is everything they accuse the right of being, I don't know what is (I'm not even a republican).

  44. How the fuck is that racist, that feminist blogger needs a punch in the mouth, and her fingers broken – materialism nothing more, I hope that blogger reads this comment.

  45. New Zealand multi cultured is common to date other ethnic other than you're own I'm half Maori half euro
