Blogging Report (August 2019) – Organic Traffic Increase of Over 60%!

Hey, everyone. Evan Hoeflich here from EvanHoeflichMarketing.com,
and welcome to another blogging report, this time for August 2019. Now, if you’re new to these blogging reports,
basically I jump into my Google Analytics account a little bit deeper. I take a look at the organic traffic coming
into my website. I kind of use these monthly reports as a benchmark
to see how my website and my blog is doing as a whole. So if you’re new to these and these interest
you, I encourage you to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can stay up to date with these
monthly reports. But with that being said, let’s jump into
this month’s report, so I’ll see you on the inside. All right. So if anyone wants to check out this particular
blog post, I’ll leave a link in the description so you can take a look at it. But August 2019 was a good month for me. Organic traffic increases. We’re just over 60%, which is great. Traffic came in. Organic traffic from my website came in at
218 visits in August 2019. When we look at year over year organic traffic
increases, August 2019 versus August, 2018, I saw a total increase of 61.48% in terms
of organic traffic. So a difference of 218 visits versus 135 visits
when comparing year over year. Pretty good overall increase in terms of organic
traffic. And these aren’t huge numbers, but slowly
but surely my blog is growing and I’m seeing really good year over year increases when
we look back over the long-term chart. You could definitely notice the growth, which
I am happy about. So if we look at the organic traffic chart,
and I could also pull it up in Analytics here, so let me just filter this really quick. We’ll go all the way back to about 2016 and
I’m going to just look at my organic traffic. So we’ll select that. We’ll remove all users, take a look at organic
traffic. I’m going to filter by month, and we’ll just
get to August here. You can see, if we look at August 2018 … Well,
first off, just good overall growth in terms of my traffic over time. You know, there has been some plateauing month
to month. But when I look back year over year, I’ve
seen really good increases. And we can see the long-term chart. You know, I am trending in the right direction,
which is excellent. But if we look at August 2018 here, we notice
that this time last year we saw a bit of a dip month over month. You can see from July to August 2018. I’ve noticed the same trend here in 2019,
August 2019. We see a little dip compared to July 2019. It’s good to notice trends like this sometimes
so you can kind of expect to see. You can set expectations, whether this is
for yourself or your own clients, on how your website is performing and maybe what months
may slow up a little bit. Like with my particular website, I’ve noticed
this as well. In August, the past two years, I’ve seen this
little dip. Nothing crazy. And again, year over year, I’m way up, which
is great. But just something it’s good to notice and
identify trends on your own website. When you see, you know, certain months or
certain slowdown periods, it’s good to just analyze this data and kind of know what to
expect moving forward. So again, just to recap, increase of 61.48%
when comparing year over year organically, which is great. We can take a look down here at the specific
year over year increases. This is comparing August 2019 versus August
2018. I’ve seen, you know, a lot more traffic come
into my website this year organically, a nice increase compared to last year. The start of August was a bit stronger. The finish was a little bit slower, but overall
really good increases. So with that being said, let’s go over a few
next blogging, SEO, and even YouTube steps moving into the fall months. Summer, sometimes I know it’s normal to slow
down a little bit. But I have a lot of really good next steps
that I’m planning on getting into moving into the fall months. So if we take a look at some of the next steps,
I plan on publishing at a minimum four blog posts per month. I believe it was July or June, June or July
where I was only able to publish two just based on I had a busier than normal schedule. So I plan on at the very minimum. I am very good about doing this consistently. I generally publish four blogs on per month,
but I want to make sure, you know, I keep that going. At least four or more articles per month to
my website. I try to make sure that each blog that I post
is, you know, as high quality as possible. You want to make sure that you’re only publishing
high quality content. Sometimes I see a lot of bloggers publish
too frequently, and I think their quality of the article suffers a bit due to that. So I think four blogs per month, so one per
week, is a really good ratio to shoot for. If you could do more without sacrificing quality,
by all means go for it and I think that’s great. But four blog posts per month is a really
good goal to shoot for in terms of your content generation. I think as long as you’re publishing quality
content, it’s a sufficient amount of content to post on a monthly basis. Number two is I’m going to continue to build
fresh backlinks. I definitely want to continue focusing on
building backlinks for my website. I have a lot of good guest post opportunities
that I want to reach out to. I have some more research and, you know, list
generation in terms of identifying and putting together a list of new link building and guest
post opportunities. But I plan on building some fresh backlinks
to my website to help with my overall organic search engine rankings. And last but not least, I’ve recently gone
through a sweep of my YouTube channel, and I’ve wanted to focus on making sure all of
my videos are transcribed. So every single month, I’m going to try to
transcribe at least four to five YouTube videos. This includes new content coming out and also
some of my content that I need to go back through and transcribe. But this is just an overall effort to improve
the overall SEO for my YouTube channel, so I want to make sure that all of my videos
are transcribed. I’m going to make sure I do this on a consistent
basis to make sure everything contains proper closed captioning and subtitles. So with that being said, that kind of wraps
everything up. I went through the data pretty quick. So like I said, I’ll leave a link in the description
to this blog post. Feel free to come over and check it out in
more detail. But with that being said, let me know how
your August 2019 was. What strategies are you working on to increase
your organic traffic and overall traffic to your website? I’d love to hear it. And with that being said, I’ll see you on
the next video. Thanks so much.
