Decoupage journal cover tutorial – DIY Vintage style journal/notebook/notepad – Shabby chic


Paint the notebook KC61 with white acrylic paint. Tear the motif out of napkin S491. As a rule a napkin has 3 layers. Use the top one. Put the napkin on a regulare film (punched pocket). Pour water on the napkin. Carefully smooth the napkin out by fan brush. Lift the film together with the napkin to let water flow down. Put the film together with the napkin on the surface of the notebook. Carefully smooth the napkin out. Carefully remove the film. Carefully smooth the napkin out by fan brush. Apply glue immediately (Water down glue 1:1) and spread it from the center to napkin borders. Tear out a motif of the rice paper 5189. Glue it onto the surface. After drying apply the acrylic varnish. Paint the notebook (near the motif) with acrylic paints. Paint the notebook (near the motif) with acrylic paints. Glue the motif of butterfly ( napkin S110) onto surface. Fix Clear stamp ST1048 onto the Transparent block ST07. Add the ink FB34 to the silicon stamp ST1048 . Than stamp the image compress hard. Dry it very well. After drying apply the acrylic varnish. Apply Antiquing paint 0C300 or patina CL006 onto the borders of the notebook. Create a decoration with Vintage spool lace FHG004. Glue it onto the surface. Glue the decorative laces FHG004. Apply Metallic Wax paste KD13 onto the borders of the notebook.

  2. I have a question.. instead of pouring the water could you use a spray bottle to wet the napkin? Seems it would make it easier and less of a mess to me!! I'd have water every where if I pour water out!
