DIY NEWSPAPER WREATH | CHRISTMAS WREATH | HOLIDAY WREATH IDEAS!!

hello fellow DIY-ers! Welcome to my channel. My name is Jessica and i’m going to show you how to make some really cool, inexpensive DIY projects. With Christmas right around the corner everyone is looking for an easy way to decorate without spending too much. Today on this episode, I’m going to show you how to make a Christmas wreath using just Elmer’s glue a cardboard box and some old newspapers. So let’s get started. The first thing you want to do is take a sheet of newspaper and fold it in half vertically cut the paper along the center so you get two halves. Now we begin folding the paper until it gets to about 1 or 1.5 centimeters wide. You don’t have to be super precise with this but try and get it to be somewhat straight. The next thing we will do is glue the paper together. You want to make sure you you fold this flap in so that you don’t have to glue the paper twice. Apply glue all along the edge and spread it evenly using your finger. Press the paper down firmly to make sure it sticks well. I like to make several strips like these before i proceed to the next step in this project which is making the roses. That way I have a bunch of these already to work with instead of stopping after every rose to make more. Next we will move on to the most crucial part of this project that is making the roses. Grab the edge of the strip and fold down the edge like this so you have something to hold on to. Next you roll this side away from you like this and the other side towards you like this. Away from you, towards you, away from you, towards you, away from you, towards you. You will eventually start to see the shape of the rose form. Continue to do this until you get to the all the way to the end. Away from you, towards you, away from you, and towards you, away from you, and towards you, away from you, towards you. Last one… When you get to the end you flip the rose over and glue this flap down to the back. Make sure you get enough glue there so that it holds firmly. Next you flip the rose over to the front and apply glue in the cracks as such. Hold it down firmly for a few seconds. Make sure not to apply too much pressure. After a few seconds let go of it and Voila! You have a rose. Using the same method you can make as many roses as you need. You will now need to make a base for your wreath. Depending on the size of the wreath you want to make, use a circular object such as a bowl and trace around the edges. Using a box cutter cut out a circular base like this one. Once you have your base you want to arrange and glue down your roses to it. Stick the roses along the entire base. The trick is to stick them as close together as possible. This gives the wreath a fuller and a nicer look. This is what your wreath should look like once the entire base is covered. Some people like the newspaper look and they prefer to keep it like this. I think it looks pretty nice like this but I want to give it a more festive, christmas look so I’m going to paint it green and cover it with some gold glitter. If this is where you wish to stop this project it could cost you nothing more than the cost of the glue but if you wish to paint and embellish it like I did, it should cost you under five dollars. So this is the finished product, a quick and inexpensive DIY christmas wreath. This project took me approximately four to five hours to complete and I did it over the course of two days. I did it on my own but if you can encourage family and kids to work with you, this project could be even faster and even more fun. It cost me all of four dollars to make and I think it looks great. What do you guys think? Thank you so much for watching guys. If you do decide to try out this project please leave your feedback in the comments so I can see how it went for you.
