ECCO Journal Live – Caroline Nehring & Anthony Bogdan

I think the hardest thing for me is –– trying to be a couple. And live together. And work together.24-7.CAROLINE NEHRING & ANTHONY BOGDANYou just arrived in Denmark. We had fallen crazy in love. From Instagram actually. You flew inn.Quit your job in England.Yeah.I picked you up in the airport –– and you never returned to England, did you? From day one we just kind of moved in together. And…Had this –– kind of odd story of just figuring out a way to make it work. And then we opened up our business.Together we run a small media agency from our house. And work as content creators together. We had this conversation.Right when we met.Where do we actually settle?Because that’s obviously the question everyone finding love abroad –– has to face.Where do we want to be?It was quite obvious from the beginning that Denmark was just a wonderful place to raise a family.I think as a foreign person –– living outside of Scandinavia.I think –– from England especially.Everyone is kind of obsessed with the Scandinavian living. In terms of fashion and design. So for me coming to Denmark. It was kind of –– really inspiring to be here. And I assume that’s the same for all over.Everyone is really fascinated with the Scandinavian way of living.Knowledge is so widely accessible. So…You can basically pick up anything you want to learn. And the knowledge is right there for you to go and get it.That is also the way we built our house. We bought the house and had no idea and had no idea how to even put a nail in.And we actually fixed the whole thing up ourselves.Just from YouTube. From YouTube! And that’s kind of how we are as a couple. If there is something that we don’t know –– or want to try out –– we just spent every hour learning.Spent every hour learning up until very early hours in the morning.Just trying to figure it out.YouTube-ing.Asking everyone we know.We are kind of our jobs. And…It’s a very blurry line –– between being your private self and being your job.So we have this saying.“We are personal but we are not private.”We had some very big conversations when I got pregnant. How much of this part our lives do we want to be on social media. We found that it was unnatural for the biggest thing of our lives –– to not be part of our whole online universe as well. Our new channel which is our house channel. It is very different to our other channels though.Cause we are sharing quite a bit of the downsides as well.People can relate to –– trying to build a wall and it just failing five times. And us standing there with dust…Me electrocuting myself. You electrocuting yourself. And just all these things that we are trying to do.But that’s a bit different.Because that’s not about us as people. That’s about the stuff that we are building.Projects.And I find that being much more okay. That that comes very close. And that becomes a very daily thing.Growing up in England I wasn’t aware of ECCO as a brand. It was only when I first moved to Denmark. I kind of realised how big it was here.I’ve grown up knowing ECCO.From my very first memories of going to get shoes. You know. Brands that, as a Dane, you are very proud of.In the world when you see an ECCO store, you know that’s a Danish brand.Feeling a great connection towards the brand.Especially now that we are working with them. It’s been one of the most successful collaborations on our side.I think we’ve really learned a lot from the company.Their loyalty and the way they are highly creative, innovative and completely forethinking –– has really inspired us as a small business as well. And we made some good friends from the brand as well.We know ECCO as a brand as well as a family business. And it is just hugely inspiring –– to a small family like us as well.Knowing that these kinds of things are possible.
