Edulinc Help – Discussion Forums

Some courses have discussion forums. These are places for students to write ideas
for other students and the teacher to read. Students can also answer or reply to messages
that other students or the teacher wrote. When we add a new message to a discussion
forum, we say we ‘post’ a message. In this example, we will post something to
the General discussion forum. To post a message we click the “Add a new
discussion topic” button. We type a subject and a message. After we finish typing, we scroll down and
click “Post to forum”. The next screen displays the main forum page,
tells us our post was added and that we have 30 minutes to change the message. We can edit or delete our message by clicking
on the message subject and clicking a link in the lower right corner. After 30 minutes edulinc posts the message
for everyone in the course to see. Using the breadcrumbs to go back to the main
discussion page, we see a message from Maria Sanchez. We can click the link below Discussion to
read it. We can answer Maria if we click Reply in the
lower right-hand corner of her message. Now we can type a new message that answers
Maria’s message. After we finish typing, we click “Post to
forum” so everybody in the course can see the message. Let’s click the course breadcrumb link to
return to course page.
