Erin Latimer | Intro to Alpine Skiing events | Samsung Paralympic Blogger | PyeongChang 2018

Hi it’s Erin here at the Jeongseon Alpine
Centre. Today is the Super Combined Event and I have a couple of hours in between runs
and I thought I would take the time to explain Para Alpine Skiing and Alpine Skiing in general
for those of you who aren’t familiar with it. In Alpine Skiing there are five different
disciplines Downhill Super G Giant Slalom Slalom and Super Combined. In the Super combined
event there is a run of Super G and run of Slalom. Something you may not know about Alpine
Skiing is that you need a different pair of skis for every event because of the different
radiuses. This means that we travel with a lot of skis because you don’t just need one
pair you need two to three, you need a warm up ski a race ski and sometimes a back up
ski. Tuning room one Tuning room two Tuning Room three Thanks for watching and I hope
that leaves you with a better understanding of Alpine Skiing.
