How-to Use the Journal Tool in Blackboard

Hello, my name is Torie, and today I’m
going to show you how to use the journal tool in Blackboard. In your
online course, your instructor might require you to use the journal tool in
Blackboard. To locate the journal tool, click on the “Tools” link on the left-hand
side of your screen. That will open the journals tool. On the journal’s page, you
should see a journal created by your instructor. Click on the blue link to
access the journal. This will take you to the journal page. On this page, you’ll see
instructions for your journal here. To create a journal entry, select “Create
Journal Entry” at the top, left-hand side of your page. On this page, you will need to title your journal entry and create content. Click on the text boxes to do
this. When you are done creating content for your journal, you can either select
“Save Entry as Draft” at the bottom, right-hand side of your screen, or you
can select “Post Entry” to post your journal content. You should now see your
journal entry on the journal page. You can leave a comment on your journal by
selecting the “Comment” button on the right-hand side of your journal entry.
Here you can also edit or delete your journal entry by selecting the drop-down
arrow that appears next to the journal’s name. If you decide to save any drafts of
your work, you can select the “View Drafts” button at the top, right-hand side of
your page. Here you can edit and submit drafts or create full journal submissions
submissions. You have now successfully used and navigated the journals tool in
Blackboard.
