journal to submit your article on emerging technologies
in food processing. You are considering titles in
the subject area Food Science and want to understand
their relative impact. Enter Food Science, select it from auto-suggest

281 Food Science journals. At the top right of the page is
the option to change the year for which data is displayed. You decide to view
the 2017 figures. A variety of journal metrics
are listed for each title. These can help you determine
its quality and impact. By default,
titles are sorted by CiteScore, with the highest figure
at the top. More information on
the CiteScore metric is available
in the Scopus help files. The Highest percentile column
indicates the relative standing of a title,
based on its CiteScore. Alongside the percentile,
the title’s rank is listed. Annual Review of Food Science
and Technology is ranked first out of 255 journals in
the Food Science subject area. This indicates that of the 281
journals in this subject area, 255 have a 2017 CiteScore. If a title is listed in
more than one subject area, the field in which it performs
best will be displayed. The Citations column gives
a 2017 citation count for documents published in 2014,
2015, and 2016. You can also discover how many
documents were published during the same
three-year period. % Cited is the proportion of
documents that have received at least one citation in 2017. SNIP shows
a journal’s citation impact relative to the citation
potential of its subject area. Select the arrow
to the right of SNIP to display
two additional options. Inspired by
the Google PageRank algorithm, the SJR metric weights citations
received based on their source. The final column contains
the publisher for each title. You can use all this information to help you identify a journal
for your submission. ♪
