Simon-Kucher’s Pricing Forum 2018: Topline Growth in the Digital Age

This is the 12th year we’ve hosted our Pricing Forum
in London, and it’s been immensely gratifying to engage with our clients as they’ve
evolved and developed over this time. It’s been an exciting year for Simon-Kucher
so far with recognition from both The Financial Times and the
Management Consultancies Association. Building on that this was our biggest
forum ever. We had over 180 delegates joining us from a diverse range of
organisations and industries. The day was focused around the theme of
Topline Growth in the Digital Age. We’re seeing digital transform the world
and our interactions within it, and this has profound impacts on how
businesses function and make money. However the reality is that companies
are overwhelmingly still failing to grow their top line through
their digital initiatives. We discussed a variety of strategies at the forum for
addressing these challenges. Content included plenaries from our Simon-Kucher
experts on digital as a business strategy topic, value creation strategies, global pricing trends,
dynamic pricing and digital monetisation. A range of industry experts from Addison Lee,
Deliveroo, Eve sleep and Zuora, to name just a few, participated in panel sessions discussing
their experiences and advice. Topics included monetising growth through
marketing, product and pricing strategies, the dangers of digital price wars and
behavioural economics in sales. Senior members of the Simon-Kucher team presented
practitioner sessions drawing on company expertise and case studies for a more in-depth look at
digitalisation and monetisation. And finally, we ended the day with a keynote
about the Art of Adapting from Tim Harford, The Financial Times’ Undercover Economist.
So all in all a packed day as we explored key Simon-Kucher themes around what
topline growth really means in the digital world.
