Hello. I’m Maurice Corcoran and I’m
working with the Disability Royal Commission. The Royal Commission is
investigating all forms of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of
people with a disability. As part of our inquiry we are heading to South Australia for a series of community forums. These events are a way for people with a disability,
their families, carers and advocates to share their experiences of violence
abuse neglect or exploitation with the Royal Commission. There will be three
forums – two in Adelaide on the 12th of November and one in Gawler
on the 14th of November. We will have Auslan interpreters, live captioning and
counsellors available. We’re really hoping people will take this opportunity
because your voices matters and are a vital part of the Royal Commission’s
work. We are asking people to register their interest in speaking at the
community forums. You can do this and get more details about the times and
locations on our Facebook page and on the Disability Royal Commission website.
And please, spread the word about the forums. I look forward to seeing you
all in Adelaide and Gawler.
