Hello this is Dags from the Commonwealth Team
Soldier On in Antarctica. Just a quick update on how things are going. It is one of the
most beautiful days today, Antarctica has really shown her best side. The sun is shining and
leaving beautiful patterns across the snow. There’s a little breeze which can nip you
quite quickly and can be dangerous if you’re not careful but on the other side of that
it’s absolutely beautiful. Everybody’s in really good [?]. Final countdown to our [?] to the
Pole if you like. And there’s quite a lot of jolly activity. There seems to be an incredible
amount of whisky that’s come on the scene mysteriously out of people’s paulks in the
last couple of days which is causing great hilarity. And I think generally people are
in very, very good spirits. The food is becoming a little bit repetitive I have to tell you.
If I have to have another kebab casserole I think I might become a vegetarian. Everything
is really, really good and I’m really proud of what the soldiers have done, they’re really
putting the effort in now. There’s a great comradery in the camp and all’s good so from
Dags in about 40 miles away from the Pole, have a lovely Tuesday!
