Newspapers are ephemeral materials. They were created on very poor paper and were never really meant to last very long. This is a classic example of an older newspaper, and you can see how brittle the fibers of the paper have become, how discolored the paper has become, and how difficult it may be to actually handle this particular paper. If you have a new issued paper, we recommend that you unfold the paper immediately and put it into an alkaline folder. We would also like to recommend that you go to your local copy center and have the article that you are interested in reformatted. Have a facsimile made. This can be used as an item that you can handle among family members or you could actually store this in an alkaline folder and boxes just as you do your newspaper.
