Merewether, near Newcastle. It’s fantastic, it’s probably my favourite
in the whole state. It’s a giant ocean pool. The 50 metre section is a small part of it and there’s something about the immensity of it which just feels awesome, in the literal
sense of awesome. And the joy, watching people’s joy swimming in it, cycling down to it and jumping in the water, it’s just fantastic. That’s my number one. The other three I would say not to miss. Well I really love Yamba, funnily enough, way up in the north. There’s something about Yamba that feels like it hasn’t changed for many years. Now people locally might say ‘oh it’s
changed lots’ but as a visitor it had that really nice, vintage feel to it, sitting by
the pool. And I like Yamba also because the tide comes in and you’ve got a very different experience on different tides. Down in Sydney I love Bronte Rock Pool on the eastern beaches there. That feels like you’re in a five-star hotel
pool. So it’s a real luxury pool. Except in a storm when it’s a bit rough. And then the other one that’s magical is down on the south coast, Bermagui. Not to be missed, Bermagui Blue Pool is absolutely beautiful. That’s my top four.
