What are the StudyDesk Forums?

What are StudyDesk forums? In this video we will be helping you to understand
what they are and how they are used by students and teaching staff. The foundation of the StudyDesk forums is
to enable student and lecturer communication about a diverse range of topics. Each course has their own forums, which contain
several discussion threads centered on topics unique to the course. The use varies for students and lecturers
in a few ways. Students typically interact with others in
threads such as the ‘Social Forum’, check for updates relating to the course content,
ask questions about assessment or reflect on the course materials. There are many more ways that students and
you could utilize the forums but those are the most common uses. So how do lecturers use the forums? They have a role in monitoring course discussion
across all forum threads which means they will jump in and answer questions or provide
insight when possible. The forums are a place to communicate with
your lecturer and make the most out of your university experience. We want you to ask questions, talk to other
students, and reflect on your course through using this open communication platform we
call StudyDesk forums. In our next video we will be covering how
to use StudyDesk forums which will help those of you who now want to become engaged.
